Crazy Times

Here lately I feel like I'm struggling to keep my head above water. I attribute this to me having way to many jobs :-) For real though, Ava is getting bigger and Jackson is a crazy 3 1/2 year old. Before I go into an ugly face cry about how time is passing too fast, I'll just say that they are turning into awesome people. Ava is to the stage where she is just about to crawl, but she can't so she gets really upset...often. She's usually the happiest baby, but here lately she won't let me set her down to do anything. Don't get me wrong, I need my sanity...and a clean house, so I do but she is usually whining the whole time.

Is it just her age and limited mobility? She seems like she gets bored quick with every toy we have in the house. Jackson was never into anything he wasn't supposed to be, he played with his toys the way they were supposed to be played with,  etc... The boy makes my heart happy when it comes to that and having to have everything in it's place. Ava is a totally different story. She's messy with her food, into everything and everything goes in her mouth. It's giving me a nervous breakdown just thinking about it. I feel like I need to go buy padlocks and chains for everything right now.

Isn't it funny how kids are so different? I'm sure God gave me a child like her to teach me something. Maybe it's to lighten up, or be more messy. Either way it's going to be a struggle for me.

Here they are enjoying their spaghetti from dinner.
Notice how Ava is undressed. This is common dinner-eating attire for her now.

  1. I agree that it goes way too fast. I have a child who I swear was just in kindergarten and she's trying out for middle school cheerleader next week. I thought I was going to faint when we got the info! She is definitely the one God gave me like your baby girl to teach me alot...a whole lot:)!

Being a mama makes us totally dependent on Him!!

I know you are a good one!!

    1. Thanks! It's funny to have kids that are either so much like us or so different from us. They definitely keep us on our toes!

  3. Rachel, my second, is also the one who is teaching me a lot. She is so different from Sam and sometimes it makes me nuts! She sounds a lot like Ava except right now it's that she doesn't talk a lot so the lack of communication makes us both insane :) Thinking of you...
