It's Time

We knew at some point we'd have to get rid of the pacifier. Jackson turned two in July and if we had thought it through we would have done it then. See, Jackson only used it when he slept at night or took a nap, but recently he'd been asking for it all the time. After a bit of frustration and lots of fit throwing his Dad decided to cut the ends off of all but one. I wasn't really ready for it but we started the process.

I was so surprised but he actually slept great last night without it and took a nap today. Tonight he didn't even cry when he laid him down.

I'm not sure how long it will take him to forget it all together since the first thing he did this morning was ask for it. Although we also found out today that he has an ear infection. So he's being so great about it all considering.

I'm still a little nervous about this week because he starts one of our local mother's day out programs. I really want him to stay all day, but that involves him napping there. I know that it's going to be a lot harder without his paci, but I know it'll be ok.

This weekend we also went to a family reunion and spent some time relaxing at Jordan's parents. We also found out Jackson has had an ear infection for the last few days. This explains a lot of the fussiness though.
We're planning on spending our Labor day relaxing and spending time grilling out with family.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

  1. Yay! maybe being at preschool will actually help since it won't be mama putting him down. His teachers will feel much less sad than you:)

It's such a hard thing...for us and them! But freedom on the other side:)
