Today I'm doing a post to link up to Kelly's Korner for her Christmas Tour of Homes. This is the first Christmas for us to be in our new house. It's also the first Christmas to have Ava in our new house, and I didn't get to decorate and do all the things I wanted this year just because we were so busy. However, I am pretty happy with how we made things work this year.

Here is our tree. I just went with some simple brown paper wrapping with ribbon this year. I think it looks very classic and traditional.

Here is a better picture with the light on.
It's a little hard to tell, but I have my Mom's button garland hanging on the tree. We used to live in a cabin and when we moved in my Mom and Sister spent almost the whole year collecting old buttons and and wooden spools and stringing them on fishing line. It really turned out amazing! Maybe I can take better picture of that and update this post soon. It's such a great idea if you're going for a rustic kind of look.

Here is one of my side tables. I love snowmen and have been collecting them for the last few years.

This is the ladder that I have hanging on my kitchen wall. I made this Christmas wreath last year with my friend Nicki. Basically you poke squares of fabric down in a wreath. I love the way it turned out. My husband gave me the great idea to put all of our Christmas cards on it. I love displaying all the Christmas cards we get throughout the season, and this was a great way to do it!

I finally have a mantle to hang my stockings on! Sorry there is no picture of the whole thing, but I always wait till very inconvenient times to take pictures. Somebody was watching something on tv and since it's hanging over our mantle, this is all I got. We each have personalized stockings, which I love!

These last pictures are of the front of our house. I finally painted our door a color that I can be happy with year 'round. The "Let it Snow" painting is an old window that my Mother-in-law found. I love using it for my Winter decorations.
With the lack of time we had this year, I'm really happy with how everything turned out.
