I Hope Phil is Right

February is here. Phil did not see his shadow, and I'm looking forward to an early Spring. This cold weather is dragging me down. One of the best ways to cheer up is to play with kids. This month I want to do that a little more. I feel like I'm constantly saying "wait just a minute" when Jackson asks me to play because I'm trying to keep up with housework or whatever else I may have going on.

This month I want to focus on saying yes more and putting off the other things until later. I keep reminding myself that the kids aren't going to be this little for long, and that pretty soon they won't want me to play with them.

What are some favorite games to play with your kids?

Let's just quit cleaning!!! lol (or just lower our standards for the next 5 years.... that's what I'm working on) Legos, blocks, dolls, and blankets won't be laying in the floor forever:)

    1. I really need to work on lowering my standards. You are so right that even in two years the house won't be filled with toys all the time.

  2. This is definitely a resolution I should adopt. I am bad at playing with my kids, at slowing down and realizing I can do the dishes (or clean the house or fold laundry) when they're in bed, and just enjoying this time of life when they're so small. Thanks for the reminder.

My kids just love to play with toys and make up their own games but once in awhile I put on music and we just have a big ol' dance party.
