Burlap Shamrock Door Hanger

I'm trying to get the most out of the 2 yards of burlap I bought about a month ago, and I needed a March door hanger.
This is what I came up with.

I had never actually made a burlap door hanger before, but it turned out to be pretty easy.

First, I found a shamrock design here
Since I could only print out an 11x14 page, I decided to just free-hand it by looking at the picture

I cut that out and then used that cutout to trace another identical shamrock

Next, I started hot-gluing the two pieces together. I started with the stem of the shamrock. Once I got that piece glued together, I stuff newspaper inside to make it look puffy. I did one section at a time, stuffing in paper as I went.

I glued the last section together to make this:

The last thing I did was take a sharpie and draw some random sized circles on the front. I took some green paint and colored them in.

Here is the finished product on my front door

  1. I like it! Very crafty. I am thinking I need to get myself a hot glue gun since I could do so many more crafts that way!
